Malas - 108 - Panchmukhi Rudraksh

The five faced rudraksh is said to promote general wellbeing, health and freedom. It calms your nerves; brings a certain calmness and alertness in your nervous system; enhances your intellect and cultivates wisdom.

The word mala comes from the Sanskrit meaning garland. Malas are used as meditation beads or prayer beads and used to keep the mind focused and clear from thoughts.

A hand mala has 27 counting beads plus one meru bead. The meru (mountain) bead provides a starting and ending point for counting the repetitions of the mantra.
